On 15 April 1993, the Ministry of Justice registered the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova.

On 30 October 2001, the Ministry of Justice registered the Professional Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova.

Due to the amendment of the current legislation and indication stipulating that only one sports Federation can operate in a particular sport field at the Republican level, on 8 November 2003 at the Republican Conference the decision was taken on accession (merge) of the Professional Boxing Federation to the Boxing Federation.

As a result, the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova has become the full successor of the Professional Boxing Federation, as specified in the constituent documents, and on 3 December 2003 it was registered by the Ministry of Justice.

Starting from 03 December 2003, according to the Law no. 330-XIV of 26 March 1999 ‘On Physical Education and Sport’ and the Moldova Government Decree no. 356 of 26 March 2003 ‘On the Approval of the Regulation on organization and operation of National Sports Federations’, in the Republic of Moldova there is only one Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova, which regulates (Olympic and professional) boxing and is entitled to organize, manage and represent this sport, including to interact with central and local authorities, international organizations, anti-doping agencies, Olympic Committee, to control and supervise all sports structures of this sport (schools, clubs, leagues), to draw up sports and individual competition schedules (tournaments, meetings, fights), to license the athletes, coaches and judges, to create and monitor the operation of specialized commissions, to put forward the proposals for the award of sports titles and scholarships, to perform other administrative and managerial functions, including to take technical decisions on individual cases.

In accordance with the above law, the Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova is the only national structure that interacts with international organizations and structures.

In particular, answering the question, why should Moldova establish a professional league, if two such leagues have already been created within AIBA, he explained:

- We don’t plan to establish professional leagues - according to Moldovan law, all boxing, including professional (both within AIBA and other international professional boxing organizations), only one federation is involved in the entire territory of the country - in this case, Boxing Federation of Moldova. We encourage the creation and development of promotional companies that will organize boxing tournaments, including international ones, under the auspices of our federation. In 2019, we plan to hold several such tournaments.

Vasili Chirtoca also explained why the FBM decided to engage tightly in professional boxing. According to him, there are several reasons for this. The first, and most important, the International Olympic Committee decided to allow professional boxers to participate in the Olympic Games.

Another task of the Federation is to help manage the career of the best boxers, give them the opportunity to earn money not to the detriment of the interests of Olympic boxing, and also not to lose promising athletes who don’t get into the national teams and offer them the continuation of their career in professional boxing.

According to him, the relevant changes have already been made to the Charter of the Federation. And at the end of September, were held seminars, in which prominent representatives of international professional leagues took part. Have been trained supervisors (managers of professional tournaments) and judges. They, as well as boxers, will be issued the appropriate licenses of the Boxing Federation of Moldova.

The head of the Federation commented on the recent situation when a certain organization in Gagauzia decided to organize a regional tournament, but the BMF didn’t agree to hold it. So, according to him, the Boxing Federation of Gaguzia didn’t organize this tournament, which was officially notified by the FBM.

- The tournament was organized by a certain association, which was established by two or three citizens living abroad, who assumed the right to practice professional boxing in Moldova, - said Vasili Chirtoca – We don’t mind, but subject to the laws of the state in which they intend to act. Sports activities are regulated by numerous regulations, the main ones being the Law on Physical Culture and Sports No. 330-XIV of 25.03.1999 and the Government Decree approving the Regulation on the organization and functioning of national sports federations N 356 of 26.03.2003. There is a general rule, including that prescribed in the Law on Regulatory Acts, which is that special norms apply to any legal relationship. In the event of a conflict between the general norm and the special norm, which are contained in the normative acts of the same level, the special norm shall be applied.

If we return to the mentioned boxing public organization (we have a lot of such), the law doesn’t prohibit any registered structure to set goals for fights, tournaments, professional development and other sports activities. However, this doesn’t give the right to carry out this activity in violation of the law, including the law, on the basis of which all sports organizations are obliged to act. Vasili Chirtoca noted that the Law on Physical Culture and Sports and the government decree approving the Regulations on the organization and functioning of national sports federations, clearly define the primacy and powers of the National Federation in the management and regulation of the sport.

- There is no separate kind of sport "amateur boxing" and a separate kind of sport "professional boxing". There is only boxing. If there were two types of boxing as separate sports, then there would be two National Federations. The Moldova Boxing Federation has exists since 1993. In 2003, after the issuance of a relevant government decree that clarified the norms of the law, the Professional Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova, which was also headed by me, became part of FBM.

Even without the desire to understand the rule of law, it is obvious that a structure that doesn’t have even an official website, born in 2014, that is, 20 years later than the Federation, cannot claim that it controls and manages the sport at the national level.

At the same time, we are not opposed to everyone, having the necessary resources and qualifications, willing to develop boxing and have the opportunity to organize boxing tournaments, including professional boxing tournaments. Two minutes into the eighth round, Usyk rocked Bellew with a stiff jab, and followed it up with a huge left hand to send the challenger tumbling into the ropes, ending the fight. With the victory, Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs) not only remained undefeated and maintained control of all four cruiserweight belts, but made an impressive statement about his status in the boxing world.

It was an interesting, closely contested fight before Usyk's sudden knockout. Barely any punches were thrown in the first round, and Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KOs) seemed to bother the champion early on. Not only did Bellew scream and taunt at Usyk, showing no fear, but he landed plenty of strong right counter shots.

As the fight continued, however, Usyk figured out Bellew and started to take control of the action. Usyk pressed the issue, using his jab more and more as the rounds went on. While Bellew still snuck in a few good counter punches, his output slowed as the fight passed the halfway mark.

That trend continued into the eighth and what would be the final round when Usyk finally brought the bout to a close. His skill and brilliance on full display, Usyk landed a number of big shots before finally bringing the fight to a close with a devastating left.

Following the stoppage, a dazed Bellew, who struggled to recall what round the fight ended in, showed nothing but respect and admiration for his opponent, kissing Usyk on the forehead multiple times. Though clearly dismayed by the result, in what he's claimed was a retirement fight, Bellew still took pride in his effort. "I tried me best," the Liverpool native said in the ring. "I gave it everything I've got."

But as he found out, sometimes heart and effort aren't enough, not when the opponent is as talented as Usyk. "Only the very best and very biggest will find a way to beat him," Bellew said. And the next fighter to have that chance just may be one of the biggest: Anthony Joshua.

Usyk made it clear even before taking care of Bellew that his goal is to move up to heavyweight and take on Joshua. And not only that, but he wants to become the undisputed heavyweight champ. Then, he says, he'll retire.

"I need to become the undisputed heavyweight champion," Usyk said in a recent interview. "As soon as I become, I will turn back and say, 'Guys, thank you very much for your participation. Thanks everyone.' I will thank the Lord, I will go to the ground and say farewell and I will go home."

It's an ambitious plan, and maybe even an impossible one. But one thing's for certain, we'll have plenty of fun watching Usyk go about trying to make it a reality.

В частности, на Конгрессе AIBA его участники заслушали и утвердили отчёт о работе, проведенной за четыре года, выбрали нового президента организации и членов Исполнительного Комитета.

Новым президентом Международной ассоциации бокса (AIBA) стал представитель Узбекистана Гафур Рахимов, за которого проголосовало 86 делегатов. Казахстанец Серик Конокбаев набрал 48 голосов. На Конгрессе AIBA были утверждены новые весовые категории, которые будут представлены на Олимпийских Играх- 2020 в Токио. Кроме того, были внесены изменения и дополнения в "Правила проведения соревнований". В работе Конгресса Международной ассоциации бокса приняли участие президент Федерации бокса Молдовы Василий Киртока, вице-президент Максим Чертыковцев и председатель коллегии судей Анатолий Кайгородов.
